Hicksville Township (Township of Hicksville)
Hicksville Township is one of the twelve townships of Defiance County, Ohio, United States. The 2010 census found 4,979 people in the township, 1,398 of whom lived in the unincorporated portions of the township.
Located in the southwestern corner of the county along the Indiana line, it borders the following townships:
* Milford Township - north
* Farmer Township - northeast corner
* Mark Township - east
* Crane Township, Paulding County - southeast corner
* Carryall Township, Paulding County - south
* Scipio Township, Allen County, Indiana - southwest
* Newville Township, DeKalb County, Indiana - west

Indigenous peoples have inhabited the Americas for thousands of years. Beginning in 1607, British colonization led to the establishment of the Thirteen Colonies in what is now the Eastern United States. With the Union's victory and preservation, slavery was abolished nationally by the Thirteenth Amendment.
